Brothers and Sisters,
I humbly seek your support to continue serving as your First District’s International Vice President.
It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve the IBEW in this role. I have learned a great deal over that time, and I am very proud of what we have accomplished together.
I’ve been a member of the IBEW since 1990, and honoured to be part of three generations of IBEW electricians, including my father, Peter Shewchuk (45-year member), and now my son, Brendon Shewchuk (7-year member and counting).
Throughout my career, I have worked tirelessly to strengthen our union by: organizing new members and partnerships; expanding opportunities for skilled workers; supporting and fostering apprenticeship and training opportunities for IBEW members; and advocating strongly for safer workplaces, fair treatment and good-paying union jobs.
My commitment to the IBEW has always been rooted in service, accountability, integrity, and results.
I ask for your consideration and vote to continue serving as your IVP for a second term.
In Solidarity,
RUSS SHEWCHUK
International Vice President

Vision
Our Vision for IBEW Canada | 2026–2031
Grow Our Strength
Every new member strengthens every Local Union.
Canada’s future will require more skilled electrical workers than ever before.
That means continuing to organize new members, expanding market share, and ensuring IBEW remains the first choice for workers and employers alike.
Build Our Influence
Decisions are made long before workers arrive on the job.
Strong relationships with governments, employers, and industry leaders help ensure IBEW members benefit from the policies, investments, and projects shaping Canada’s future.
When IBEW has a seat at the table, Local Unions have more opportunities.
Help Local Unions Succeed
Strong Local Unions are the foundation of a strong Brotherhood and Sisterhood.
Everything IBEW Canada accomplishes begins with strong Local Union leadership and engaged members.
Supporting Local Unions means investing in leadership, education, mentorship, and the next generation of union leaders.
